Ok it's kinda nice how Conan's leading Takagi through the clues and letting him solve it himself, but I hope he knows that time is of the essence. Like it is nearly sundown and Sato is soon to be married off to Shiratori. He could just.. tell Takagi straight up and make things a while lot quicker

ah well, i guess i was pretty much entirely wrong about my guesses in ep 253, but i was a little right about the height and shirt color problems from the witnesses. that guy's GLASSES were the issue with the shirt color, not the window he was looking through. in ep 253 it showed him INSIDE looking through a window not OUTSIDE where his transition/photochromic lenses changed. the girl saw somebody taller because he was running on the curb-hump not because the shop's elevation was slightly off. the old man saw the watch-face on the inside of the wrist and thought it was a girl. plus his 'antique style' of Japanese called that shade of shirt a different color.

Shin needed some leads from Takagi and the surroundings over the phone. he couldn't just tell Takagi 'oh it is that guy, arrest him.' because Takagi can NOT take Shin's word to court. Takagi HAS to have all his 'ducks in a row' before he arrests the perp. always remember in this pair of eps, Shin is NOT seeing things himself. he has to have Takagi describe which cafe to remember the waiter wears transition lenses. Shin also needed Takagi to tell him which shop the girl was in and that it was next to the underground exit/entrance to the subway station. otherwise Shin wouldn't be able to infer the perp ran on the curb-hump instead of going through the crowd on the sidewalk. Shin did know about the old dude and why he described the shirt that way. as to the watch i think Takagi actually figured that one out entirely on his own. :D

yeah, he was rather dumb using his bowtie like that! ;) i think Shin's ego is going to catch up with him someday! oh, did you forget the guy in the knit cap Ran saw at the resturaunt where the 'marriage meeting' was being held? wasn't he on the 'hijacking the bus!' episode hmm? he was about to KARATE CHOP! one of the hijackers but Conan sleep-darted the dude in the forehead first. ;)

as to ShinRan and TaSa? uhhh yeah they're quite alike. neither couple can easily get-together for 'various reasons' that keep getting in the way. aka 'the mangaka said so' ;)

That's true. I still feel like, when he figured it out, Conan could've just told Takagi who it was and why no theatrics, there'd be no satisfying moment for Takagi but at least he'd be able to get to the restaurant on time (plus Conan would've have had to do that). But the show's gotta have its suspense

And yeah, TakaSa and ShinRan really aren't all that dissimilar, I just admittedly don't like ShinRan very much..

for the past 80~ish episodes, the subtitles have been absolutely horrendous, changing lines completely, often putting in random shit because the TL didnt know what was being said.
